Considering the kind of dogs that country areas are usually associated with, you would not need to be forgiven for thinking that it is strange to come across a tiny Dachshund dumped by the side by the side of the road. But this story tells the tale of exactly such a dog and the heroic hooman who stood up for her.

As we have come to find from the many abandoned dog stories we share here, rescue dogs come in all shapes and sizes. And while it might be more common to come across a poor dumped pit bull or a sadly abandoned german shepherd, that does not mean that other breeds, even highly sought after pedigrees, cannot find themselves thrown to the streets. Which is seemingly the way in which our dumped doggo found itself on a rural road, all alone hoping that someone would come along and pick it up.

Thankfully that someone arrived sooner than the dog could have ever dreamed off and they set off into the sunset to start their new lives together. But being the adamant advocate for canine-kind that this doggo's rescuer is, she could not leave her good deed at the rescue, so she turned to the internet to share her tale in the style of the movie 10 things I hate about you. Quite frankly, we could not have said it any better than this woman has put it. We often remark on just these things ourselves as rescuers are usually too wrapped up in the wonder of having a new pupper in the house. But this is no ordinary rescuer, this is a defender of a doggos, a caped crusader who is willing to do what it takes to have canine-kind’s back when it is up against the wall. Though we are sure that no matter how horrible and avoidant it is to dump a dog, the hooman who did the dumping is likely feeling guilty as can be right now.

Oh thank goodness there is a good side to this story as well. It is all well and good playing the blame game, but what is it worth it without some upside. It looks like things are going to get a whole lot more wholesome from here on out and well, we can assure you it will. We put together the story after all. But what we’d like you to take away from this tale is that it is important to acknowledge the bad just as it is to revel in the good. It is the balance between the two that matters most.
